Food offering in temples

This year Celebrations for the KrishnaJayanthi went off really good. I dressed myself in a White kurta and Denim Jeans. My mother had prepared some savories that tasted really good and the savories were offered to god. Then as usual, we all ate them in the name of "prasadam". Prasadam is a Sanskrit name which means the left over food after god's consumption. In the Hindu mythology, this left-over food is served to its devotees. People long for this food as they are tasty and also well-prepared that one will ask for "once-more". In some temples foods are  also served in Plantain leaves to its devotees. Some favorite varieties of food that most people like to offer to god are : Sweet-dishes like Payasam (Made out of rice, milk, wheat ), Mixed rice (Vegetables, Tamarind, lemon, tomato)  etc..
